Manutd Are Set To Trigger £15M Release Clause Of Highly-rated Argentinean Center-Back

According to a recent report from reliable sources United are keen on signing the player and then sending him out on loan to another club.

Scouts from Manchester United have reportedly visited La Bombonera to observe the highly-rated centre-back.

Anselmino is currently under contract with Boca Juniors until 2028 and has a release clause set at £17.2 million.

What to expect from Aaron Anselmino

The 18-year-old has already made five senior appearances for his current employers so far across all competitions. At the moment, Anselmino is amongst the bright young talents in Argentine football.

Aaron Anselmino is a one of the most composed centre-back prospects out there.

He is so calm, mature and very press resistant. He isn’t fazed by pressure, which enables him to turn past players and pass out from the back.

Anselmino has very good long passing, with both feet too. From deep he looks to spray passes out to the wings to start attacks. Often has good pass selection and is technically secure at the back.

The Boca Juniors prospect has quality positioning and anticipates when passes are coming in behind so well and will time his run to meet the pass either by intercepting, or sliding to tackle the player taking them out before they get it.

Anselmino’s positioning and anticipation is exactly why he’s so good at defending big spaces. He’s quick enough and reads play well enough to play a high line and cover large areas.

Exactly what Manchester United needs in their defensive line.

That being said, he does not struggle at all in central positions, actually looks very comfortable receiving the ball on both sides even when avoiding his left foot at times.

There is no doubt at all he can become a top center-back in a possession-based system.

Anselmino contract situation at Boca juniors

His current deal at Boca Junior will run out at the end of 2028 which would make it tough for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap in the summer transfer period.

Addressing the speculation about his future, Anselmino stated to Ole, an Argentine publication, “My focus is here at Boca. My goal is to win titles with this club.”
