Revealed: OGC Nice ‘Man Utd’ Release Clause For Todibo As Utd Plots Opening Bid

Jean-Clair Todibo showed flashes of quality during his time at FC Barcelona, which led to him making his name known in the world of international football.

In France, many were already aware of his potential after his early days at Toulose, where he made it to the elite. However, outside of his ‘home’, he never really made a name for himself or gained a certain level of regularity.

But this was well known to the Nice management, who believed in him a couple of years ago, finally buying him from Barça for 8.5 million euros, plus 7 million euros more in variables.

The French press stresses that he is “the best center-back in Ligue 1 by far and the leader of a Nice team that is fighting for the top positions in the table”, and they are already placing him with several big teams.

In Francesco Farioli’s team, Todibo has become the lord and master of the centre-back during his time at Nice.

Manchester United’s interest in Jean-Clair Todibo

Manchester United are edging towards launching a bid for Jean-Clair Todibo after listing the Nice defender as a key target.

Manchester United are increasingly likely to head to Nice with a formal offer for Jean-Clair Todibo after the France international has been identified as a more affordable alternative to Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite if a deal falls through ahead of the summer transfer window, sources have revealed.

Although there are ongoing doubts over whether boss Erik ten Hag will be in the dugout for the 2024/25 campaign, thanks to new technical director Jason Wilcox assessing the Dutch tactician’s credentials, the Red Devils have begun making recruitment plans after entering a new era.

INEOS chief executive Sir Jim Ratcliffe completed his purchase of a 25 percent stake in Manchester United two-and-a-half months ago, allowing him to become a co-owner and take control of football operations following lengthy negotiations with the Glazer family, and the backline has quickly been pinpointed as an area which needs strengthening.

Todibo has been pinpointed as a centre-back who they are already aware could be drafted in with more ease, thanks to him potentially being available for a cut-price fee of £21million, while the fact that members of the hierarchy have trust in him due to being owners of Nice is key.
