Revealed: Sékou Koné Official Announcement Date

According to a report by L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, Sékou Koné (18) is set to join Manchester United tomorrow from Malian side Guidars FC. 

According to previous had previously reported that the club are going to prepare the midfielder for the cultural change in moving from his home country by slowly allowing the player to settle and find his feet. 

Koné is considered a highly talented player and the priority in the short term is to bed him into the u21s where he will be allowed to grow and develop. In the long term, the club hope that he will be a future pick as the team’s defensive midfielder. 

Sekou Kone made his name at the under-17s World Cup for Mali, where he helped his team reach the semi-finals.

Mali were defeated by France in the final four, before bouncing back with a third-place play-off victory over Argentina.

Sekou Kone has been signed as a project, a player for the future rather than with the expectation he will make an immediate impact.
