Ineos Makes Final Decision On Old Trafford Stadium

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is looking to build a new stadium for Manchester United; the British billionaire wants to build a ‘Wembley of the North’.

The Daily Telegraph reported in February that Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to create a new stadium for United, who have spent the last 114 years at Old Trafford, which holds nearly 74,000 spectators.

The plan, according to the report, would see United create a ‘Wembley of the North’ to rival the 100,000-seater national stadium in north London.

The new stadium could reportedly hold up to 100,000. That would make it the largest in the UK. Ineos have made their plan known to the old Trafford faithfuls.

The latest development sees Foster + Partners, the architects behind Wembley Stadium, designing the initial concept for the new “New Trafford,” which features a circular design with a massive roof and a striking Manchester United badge. The design and the project aim to integrate the stadium into a broader development of the Trafford Park area, with new housing, commercial spaces, and improved transport links.

Ineos Decision On Old Trafford Stadium

According to sources close to the club, Manchester United’s hierarchy has begun exploring options for a modern, larger stadium to enhance fan experience, increase revenue, and solidify its position among Europe’s elite.

Manchester United are set to tear down their beloved Old Trafford stadium to make way for a brand-new, cutting-edge arena.

Although fans have been vocal against tearing down Old Trafford majority have come to accept the reality that a new stadium will be essential if United are ready to maintain its status in world football.
