Man United Stars Asked To Foot The Bill For Fergie’s Annual Salary
In a shocking and unprecedented move, Manchester United’s players have been asked to contribute to the annual salary of legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who managed Manchester United from 1986 to 2013, is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in football history. During his tenure, he led the Red Devils to 13 Premier League titles, 2 UEFA Champions Leagues, and numerous other honours.
United attempt to streamline its finances, Ratcliffe’s decision to end Ferguson’s contract has drawn widespread criticism from several ex-players. The 82-year-old had held the ambassadorial post for over a decade, becoming a global face for the club after stepping down from management.

Former Manchester City and England defender Stuart Pearce has floated the idea that United’s players – or even that of City’s – could step in to pay the wages. Speaking to talkSPORT, Pearce said: “Wouldn’t it be good if the United squad said we’ll fund that money per season to keep Alex in the post because he’s too important to this club? I got a little bit mischievous and thought, what if Manchester City players said, wouldn’t it be good if we chipped in and paid Alex Ferguson’s wages each year to keep him in place for what he’s done for that club across the road, that is going to inspire us every week. It would be classy. You’ve sacked your best but we’ll fund him, it’s no problem.”
