Throughout its rich history, filled with silverware, Manchester United has always relied on its academy, a fact that remains true today.

251 academy players have graduated into the first-team and even now there are several candidates to make that number 252.

It is a tradition which fans will demand is maintained by Ruben Amorim, and his record of promoting youth bodes well for the talented players currently in the ranks at Carrington.

The Portuguese will make his Premier League bow against Ipswich at Portman Road on Sunday, November 24.

Harry Amass Old Trafford Breakthrough

Earlier this week, it was a bit of a shock to read that Amass had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Aston Villa was linked with a move for Amass, which would have upset many of the fanbase if Ineos had allowed it to happen. It would be shocking if he was sold, considering United views Amass as a special talent and a future first-team regular. 

Harry Amass travelled often times with Man United’s first team under Erik Ten Hag following his impressive preseason tour.

The youngster never got any real chance to impress officially with Ten Hag having a few reservations on the Englishman. It was reported Erik ten Hag had concerns over Amass’ physicality in the Premier League.

This lack of bravery cost Ten Hag, with left-back one position he blamed towards the end. However, for Amorim, it could be a strength with Amass fitting the bill of the demands of a wing-back.
