Scott McTominay Makes Contact with Former Teammate over January transfer

Scott McTominay, former Manchester United midfielder and academy graduate, has reportedly been in touch with Alejandro Garnacho, encouraging him to make the move from Old Trafford to Napoli.

McTominay, who joined Napoli in August 2024 for a reported £25.4 million, has been a key player for the Italian side, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 17 Serie A appearances.

Garnacho, on the other hand, has been linked with a move away from Manchester United, with Napoli reportedly willing to pay around €50 million for the 20-year-old winger.

However, United’s valuation of Garnacho is significantly higher, at around €80 million, which could pose a challenge for Napoli in securing the deal.

McTominay’s involvement in convincing Garnacho to join Napoli is likely due to their close friendship, having played together at Manchester United for four years.

The Scotland international has apparently been in contact with Garnacho, highlighting the benefits of joining Napoli and playing under Antonio Conte.

While nothing is set in stone, the potential transfer of Garnacho to Napoli could be an exciting development for the Italian side.

With McTominay already making a significant impact at Napoli, the addition of Garnacho could further strengthen the team’s push for the Scudetto.
