Man Utd Set New Asking Price for Antony Amid Betis Permanent Deal Interest

Real Betis Consider Making Antony’s Loan Deal Permanent After Impressive Start

Real Betis are weighing up the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Antony on a permanent basis, following his impressive start to life in La Liga.

The Brazilian winger joined Betis on loan in January, after struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford.

Antony’s Manchester United career has been underwhelming, to say the least. Since arriving at the club in 2022 for a staggering £85 million fee, he has managed just 12 goals in 96 appearances across all competitions.

His one-dimensional style of play has been regularly criticized, leading to him falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag and new boss Ruben Amorim.

However, Antony has shown glimpses of his former self in his first two games for Real Betis. He was named Player of the Match on his debut, registering an assist in a 2-2 draw against Athletic Club.

He then scored in Betis’ 3-2 loss to Celta Vigo, showcasing the talent that once made him one of Europe’s most sought-after wingers.

While Antony’s loan deal does not include a mandatory purchase clause, Real Betis are reportedly considering making his move permanent.

Manchester United, however, are holding out for a significant transfer fee, with reports suggesting they want £40-50 million to part ways with the Brazilian this summer.

Antony’s impressive start to life in La Liga has given him a second chance to revive his career, and he will be eager to make the most of it.
