Elias Jelert Comment On The Marcus Rashford Red Card

Copenhagen defender Elias Jelert, the victim of the foul that saw Marcus Rashford sent off in Manchester United’s 4-3 defeat on Wednesday, has given his opinion on the decision.

United led 2-0 and scored a goal in the first half before Rashford moved to Jelert after a strong challenge. The referee initially did not stop the game, but after a VAR check, the United winger was shown a red card.

Coach Erik ten Hag was angry after the game and insisted on a “hard” solution. This decision was one of many decisions made during the game against his team.

Jelert admitted Rashford did not mean any harm with the challenge but insisted the red card was the right decision.

“I felt it was high but there were no free kicks at the start,” he told Bold.
