Man Utd Academy Graduate Switches International Allegiance
Mason Greenwood Switches Allegiance to Jamaica

In a significant development for both his career and the Jamaican national team, Mason Greenwood has officially been granted Jamaican citizenship and issued a Jamaican passport.
The move, as reported by BBC Sport, clears the path for the forward to switch his international allegiance from England to Jamaica and begin a new chapter on the global stage.
Greenwood, who earned a single senior cap for England in 2020, has not featured for the Three Lions since. Under FIFA rules, players who have made no more than three competitive appearances for a country before the age of 21 are eligible to switch their national allegiance, a criteria Greenwood meets.
The 23-year-old, who has been revitalizing his club career since a move to Marseille, is of Jamaican descent through his father.
His decision is the culmination of a long-standing pursuit by the Jamaican Football Federation (JFF), which has been actively recruiting UK-based players with Jamaican heritage to strengthen the “Reggae Boyz” squad.
This recruitment drive is a key part of the team’s ambition to qualify for the FIFA World Cup for only the second time in their history.
For Greenwood, the switch represents a fresh start and a guaranteed pathway back into international football.
