Crystal Palace Chief Abandons Ship to Join Man United
Manchester United to Appoint Crystal Palace’s Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad as Head of Sports Medicine
Manchester United is set to continue its extensive backroom staff overhaul with the appointment of Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad, the highly-regarded Head of Sports Medicine at Crystal Palace.

He will replace the departing Gary O’Driscoll, who is leaving the club after just 18 months in the role.
The move marks another significant step in the restructuring of the club’s medical department, a process that has been overseen by Manchester United’s performance director, Sam Erith. O’Driscoll’s departure, alongside that of first-team doctor Jim Moxon, was reportedly not related to the club’s recent injury woes but rather a personal decision to step down.
Dr. Ahmad, who is currently serving his notice period at Crystal Palace, brings a wealth of experience to Old Trafford.
His impressive career includes stints with the Football Association’s youth international squads, Millwall, Tottenham Hotspur’s academy, and a seven-year tenure at Queens Park Rangers, where he held various medical and performance-related roles.
His arrival is a strategic move by Manchester United to secure a new leader for a medical team that has undergone considerable change in recent seasons.
The club has been plagued by a high number of injuries, and the new appointment is seen as a key part of the broader efforts to address these issues and create a more robust and effective medical structure.
