Catalan giants reportedly ready to trigger \text{£}30\text{ million} option-to-buy clause for Manchester United loanee after impressive start to life in La Liga.

Barcelona have reportedly made an early decision to turn Marcus Rashford’s current loan spell from Manchester United into a permanent transfer, with the move set to be finalised in the summer of 2026.

According to a report by The Sun, the La Liga club is “ecstatic” with the English forward’s performances and conduct since his arrival and is prepared to activate the purchase option embedded in his loan agreement.

Rashford, who joined the Catalan side on a season-long loan from Manchester United last July, has quickly found form under coach Hansi Flick, silencing initial doubts that surrounded the temporary move.

The England international has been a key contributor, racking up a significant number of goals and assists in the opening stages of the campaign.

A source cited in the report claims that Barcelona were initially wary of the transfer, fearing that Manchester United’s willingness to let the player go on loan suggested an underlying issue. However, those concerns have been completely dispelled by Rashford’s explosive and dedicated start at the Camp Nou.

The forward’s versatility and work rate have particularly impressed the club’s sporting management, leading to the internal decision to secure his long-term future. Rashford, who fell out of favour at Old Trafford, has previously expressed his happiness and desire to remain in Catalonia, stating his wish to stay for “as many seasons as possible.”
