Altay Bayandir Reacts To Edwin Van Der Sar Comments

Altay Bayandir signed for Manchester United on deadline day on a £4.3million deal from Fenerbache. He is currently Manchester United second choice goalkeeper to Andre Onana, who also arrived this summer from Inter Milan for £47million from Inter Milan.

Van der Sar and Onana have a good relationship dating back to when van der Sar was chief executive of Ajax while Onana was their no1. In a video posted by Manchester United’s Instagram account, Bayandir was asked who his favourite goalkeeper was.He said:

“When I was younger, I watched a lot of games of Manchester United and my favourite goalkeeper was Edwin van der Sar.

“Van der Sar is a legend of Manchester United. I know him.”

But rather than accept the compliment, Van Der Sar left a rather frosty comment on Manchester United’s Instagram.

He wrote: “Hi Altay, will see you soon in Manchester and we will have a chat about goallkeeping but my favourite is still Andre as you will know!

“Most Manchester United fans were confused as to why a club legend had to publicly choose sides over the goalkeepers on a public forum.

Reports from reliable sources in Turkie now claims, Altay Bayindir is unhappy with Edwin Van der sar comments on the goalkeeper. Edwin van der Sar’s words greatly upset Altay Bayindir and his representative.

They spoke to Manchester United’s communication team about this. Bayindir showed a very good performance tonight in a match in which he was unhappy.
