Another Man City Star Ruled out of Derby Against Man Utd
Manchester City Struck by Injury Blow as Marmoush Ruled Out of Derb

Manchester City has confirmed a significant setback ahead of the highly anticipated Manchester derby, with forward Omar Marmoush set to miss the crucial clash due to a knee injury.
The 26-year-old Egyptian international sustained the injury while on duty for his country during a World Cup qualifying match against Burkina Faso.
Marmoush was forced off the pitch in the opening minutes of the game, with initial reports from the Egyptian Football Association suggesting a “bruised knee ligament.”
In a statement released on Wednesday, Manchester City confirmed the extent of the initial findings. “Initial results on a scan performed in Egypt indicate he will not be available for the Manchester derby on Sunday, and he will now return to Manchester for more assessment and to begin his rehabilitation,” the club said. “Everyone at City wishes Omar a speedy recovery.”
The news is a major blow for City manager Pep Guardiola, who has already seen his squad suffer from a number of injuries early in the season.
Marmoush has been a regular presence in the City attack since his £59 million move from Eintracht Frankfurt in January, featuring in all three of the club’s Premier League fixtures so far and scoring eight goals in 28 appearances across all competitions.
The absence of Marmoush, coupled with other injury concerns for players like Rayan Cherki and Phil Foden, leaves Guardiola with a selection headache as his side looks to bounce back from a slow start to the Premier League campaign. Manchester City hosts Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
