AS Monaco to Accelerate Move for Man United Ace

AS Monaco are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Andre Onana, according to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

The news comes amid ongoing speculation surrounding the Cameroonian goalkeeper’s future at Old Trafford, with new United manager Ruben Amorim reportedly keen to reshape his squad, including the goalkeeping department.

Onana, who arrived at Manchester United two years ago from Inter Milan, has endured a mixed tenure in England.

While showcasing his impressive ball-playing abilities at times, he has also been criticized for a number of high-profile errors that have raised questions about his consistency.

This has led to a growing belief that Manchester United could be open to offers for the 29-year-old if a suitable opportunity arises.

Monaco, having secured Champions League football for next season, are actively looking to strengthen their squad, with a new goalkeeper identified as a key priority.

Their current options, Radoslaw Majecki and Philipp Kohn, have reportedly not entirely convinced the club’s hierarchy, leading them to cast a wider net in the transfer market.

The Principality club’s CEO, Thiago Scuro, has publicly confirmed the intention to bring in a new number one.

Alongside Onana, Monaco has also been linked with Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic and even Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen, indicating their ambition to secure a top-tier shot-stopper.

Monaco’s reported “survey” of Onana’s situation suggests a genuine interest.
