Atletico Madrid Wants Deal Conditions for Man United Forward

Atletico Madrid have reportedly initiated contact with Manchester United regarding the potential transfer of Brazilian winger Antony, who has rediscovered his form spectacularly during his loan spell at Real Betis. 

The Spanish giants are understood to have asked for deal conditions, as United aim to offload the player for a fee in the region of £30-35 million this summer.

Antony, 25, joined Real Betis on a loan deal in January 2025, after a challenging period at Old Trafford following his high-profile €95 million move from Ajax in 2022. 

The loan move, which expires at the end of the 2024-25 season, did not include an option to buy, signifying United’s initial intent to see him regain his stride.

Since arriving in La Liga, Antony has shown glimpses of the electrifying talent that made him a sought-after prospect.

His performances at Real Betis have been impressive, with reports indicating he has contributed significantly to their attacking play. 

He has scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists in 17 La Liga appearances for Betis so far this season, along with 4 goals and 3 assists in 8 Conference League matches. This upturn in form has not gone unnoticed across Europe.

Manchester United, who placed Antony on their transfer list in May 2025, are now hopeful of securing a permanent departure for the winger.

The reported valuation of £30-35 million represents a significant reduction from the initial fee they paid, but reflects a desire to part ways with the player and reinvest in the squad.

Atletico Madrid’s interest suggests they see Antony as a valuable addition to their attacking options, particularly given his renewed confidence and attacking output in Spain.

His directness and flair could be a strong asset for Diego Simeone’s side. While Real Betis have expressed happiness with his contributions, their financial capabilities may limit their ability to make a permanent offer, with some reports suggesting they could at most push for another loan.
