Brighton Interested in Man Utd Defender this Summer
Brighton & Hove Albion have emerged as potential suitors for Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, who is attracting attention from multiple Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Swedish international, 30, has seen limited playing time under manager Ruben Amorim this season, despite the Portuguese coach’s shift to a three-center-back system (3-4-3).
Lindelof has started just two league games and was an unused substitute in United’s recent 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, signaling his diminished role at Old Trafford.
Despite his club struggles, Lindelof remains a pivotal figure for Sweden’s national team under manager Jon Dahl Tomasson.
His contract with Manchester United expires in June 2024, paving the way for a free transfer. Brighton faces competition from Everton, West Ham United, and his former club Benfica, who sold him to United for £40 million in 2017.
West Ham’s David Moyes, who previously eyed Lindelof in January, is reportedly renewing his interest.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is already scouting replacements, with Genoa’s Koni De Winter identified as a possible successor.
Victor Lindelof’s tenure at United nears its end, the race to secure his services intensifies, offering the veteran defender a fresh challenge in the Premier League or a potential return to familiar grounds in Portugal.
