During the October break, 15 Man Utd players will embark on international duty. Gareth Southgate has included Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire in his England squad, despite Rashford’s underwhelming start to the season. Interestingly, Maguire has managed to maintain his spot in the national team, despite his limited game time with Red Devils under Erik ten Hag.
Meanwhile, Scott McTominay is eager to continue his impressive performances for Scotland. Both Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot will also feature for Portugal, as they strive to secure their place in next summer’s Germany tournament. Similarly, Rasmus Højlund and Christian Eriksen have received call-ups to the Danish national team, with Eriksen aiming to assist the prolific Hojlund in Denmark’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers.
In terms of British representation, Jonny Evans joins McTominay as a key player with important matches for their respective nations. Interestingly, both Eriksen and Evans are part of a select group of United players who have achieved over 100 caps for their countries.
Elsewhere, Victor Lindelof’s Sweden faces a tough challenge to qualify for the upcoming major tournament. In South America, Alejandro Garancho’s Argentina, Casemiro’s Brazil, and Facundo Pellistri’s Uruguay will each participate in two 2026 World Cup qualifiers during the break.
