Cristiano Ronaldo Makes Man Utd Request

According to ‘Mirror’, Cristiano Ronaldo wants compatriot and former teammate Bruno Fernandes to follow in his footsteps and join Saudi club Al-Nassr following rumours linking the Manchester United midfielder with a move away from Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes, 29, has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich and Inter Milan in recent days with the Red Devils set to miss out on Champions League football next season.

However, he has also been linked with other clubs that could offer him a big salary, such as those in Saudi Arabia.

“I will be here till when the club wants me and the club wants me to be a part of the future. If for some reason they don’t want me, then I will go,” he said about his future.

According to ‘Mirror’, Cristiano Ronaldo, who was one of the first arrivals in the Saudi league, wants to be reunited with his former teammate at Al-Nassr and has urged his club’s board to move for him.

Man United may be forced to sell to provide the funds necessary for a major overhaul of the squad in the summer and remain compliant with Premier League financial sustainability rules.

According to ESPN, Al-Nassr believe that Fernandes would be an ideal candidate to bolster their midfield and are ready to table a mega bid for the Portuguese to test United’s resolve.

Manchester United see their financial situation strained by Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules and their budget for new acquisitions is contingent on the departure of some current players – which has further encouraged Al-Nassr to make an attempt to get Fernandes.

United have already begun their summer clear-out intending to overhaul their existing roster. Raphael Varane recently announced his departure at the end of his contract in the summer.

Anthony Martial is also set to leave when his deal expires in June. Christian Eriksen, with one year left on his contract, has also been put up for sale. In fact, the club is reportedly open to realistic offers for several first-team players, including Casemiro, who is the second-highest earner
