Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign Sunderland’s rising star Jobe Bellingham, joining Manchester United in the pursuit of the highly-rated 19-year-old midfielder.

Jobe, the younger brother of Real Madrid and England sensation Jude Bellingham, has impressed this season with his performances in the Championship with Sunderland now in the playoffs.

The German giants played a crucial role in Jude Bellingham’s rise to prominence after signing him from Birmingham City in 2020.

Now, Dortmund are hoping to repeat that success with Jobe, with reports suggesting that club officials are actively pursuing the player ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United are also keen on securing Jobe’s signature as part of their long-term strategy to recruit young English talents. The Red Devils have been monitoring his progress throughout the season and are expected to make a move this summer.

United will be hoping history doesn’t repeat itself after Jude snubbed a switch to Old Trafford in favour of Signal Iduna Park in 2020.

The England star had visited United’s Carrington training ground, while he also met Sir Alex Ferguson, Eric Cantona and Bryan Robson.

Jobe Bellingham has made over 30 appearances for Sunderland this season, showcasing his versatility and composure in midfield. He has contributed with goals, assists, and consistently strong performances, helping the Black Cats remain competitive in the Championship.

Sunderland are eager to keep hold of the talented midfielder, who is under contract until 2028. However, reports suggest they could be tempted by offers in the region of £20 million, particularly if they fail to gain promotion to the Premier League.
