Everton’s Valuation For Jarrad Branthwaite Amid Man Utd Improved Offer
United have already had on opening bid for Branthwaite knocked back by the Toffees. The Red Devils’ first offer is said to have been worth an initial £35m plus add-ons – roughly half of Everton’s £70m asking price.
Manchester United have made an improved offer to Everton for Jarrad Branthwaite, worth £45m including add-ons, in what is the club’s fourth move of the summer transfer window.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who controls United’s football policy, approved the offer, which is for a basic £45m plus £5m in clauses. Everton are expected to reject the bid given they value the 21-year-old centre-back closer to £60m-70m.
Branthwaite impressed for Everton during what was another difficult campaign for the Merseysiders. He was also a member of Gareth Southgate’s 33-man England training group for the European Championship but was dropped for the final 26-player squad.
According to David Ornstein from TheAthletics Man Utd latest offer for Jarrad Branthwaite falls far below Everton’s valuation and is firmly expected to be rejected. Everton see him in a similar bracket to Harry Maguire, Wesley Fofana and Josko Gvardiol, all of whom have been sold for figures in excess of £75m in recent years.
It remains to be seen if United will break the bank for Jarrad Branthwaite or rather move to alternative options.
