Jadon Sancho gives Man Utd One Condition to Leave this Summer

Sancho Demands Full Wage Coverage for Manchester United Exit

Jadon Sancho’s potential departure from Manchester United has hit a significant roadblock, with reports indicating the winger is demanding his current wages be fully covered by the club, regardless of whether he moves on loan or a permanent transfer.

This condition, reported by Graeme Bailey, presents a major hurdle for Manchester United, who are keen to offload the high-earning player.

Sancho, who has a contract with Manchester United until June 2026 with an option for a further year, currently earns a substantial annual salary of $13,000,000 (approximately £250,000-£300,000 per week).

This hefty wage packet has proven to be a significant barrier in previous attempts to move him on, including his recent loan spell at Chelsea, which ended with the London club paying a penalty fee to avoid a permanent obligation.

Manchester United has been actively seeking a solution for Sancho’s future, with manager Ruben Amorim reportedly not including the 25-year-old in his long-term plans.

The club is eager to recoup some of the £73 million they spent to bring him from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 and also alleviate the financial burden of his wages.

However, Sancho’s reported stance means any prospective club interested in his services would either need to match his current salary – a figure few clubs are willing or able to meet – or Manchester United would be forced to subsidize a significant portion of his wages, even if he were to leave permanently.

This development puts Manchester United in a difficult position. They face the prospect of either continuing to pay a substantial sum for a player who is not featuring in their plans or significantly lowering their asking price for a permanent transfer to entice a club willing to take on a portion of his wages.

Clubs like Borussia Dortmund, where Sancho enjoyed a successful loan spell, and several Serie A teams have been linked with the winger. However, his wage demands remain a sticking point.
