Man United Open talks for AC Milan Star
Manchester United Make Enquiry for AC Milan Goalkeeper Mike Maignan

Manchester United have reportedly made an enquiry into the availability of AC Milan’s first-choice goalkeeper Mike Maignan as they intensify their search for a new number one ahead of the 2025/26 season. The French international has emerged as a top target for the Red Devils as uncertainty continues to surround their current goalkeeping department.
According to sources close to the club, United are actively exploring options to strengthen the position this summer and view Maignan as an ideal candidate due to his commanding presence, shot-stopping ability, and composure in possession. The 29-year-old has been a standout performer for Milan since he arrived from Lille in 2021, playing a pivotal role in the club’s Serie A title win in the 2021/22 season.
Maignan is currently under contract with AC Milan until June 2026, and the Italian giants are not believed to be under immediate pressure to sell. However, Manchester United’s interest is serious, and an official approach could be made depending on how talks with other targets develop. Milan are expected to demand a significant transfer fee if they are to part ways with their star goalkeeper.
The move comes as United continue to evaluate the future of André Onana, who joined from Inter Milan but endured a turbulent season at Old Trafford. While Onana showed flashes of quality, inconsistent performances have led the club’s hierarchy to consider reinforcements, especially as manager Ruben Amorim aims to reshape the squad for a renewed push for domestic and European success.
Maignan, a full French international and widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, would represent a major coup for United.
