Man United Receives De Ligt Injury Update
All eyes are on Europe for Manchester United after another frustrating weekend in the Premier League.
Ruben Amorim’s side were beaten 4-3 by Brentford on Sunday and they sit 15th in the table, but the focus was clear when the United boss made eight changes ahead of Thursday night’s second leg against Athletic Bilbao.
There was still an injury problem for Amorim, when Matthijs de Ligt was forced off, and that is a fresh concern for him as he looks to ensure United do not surrender the three-goal aggregate lead they hold in the semi-final tie.
Amad Diallo is now back to fitness, but the likes of Diogo Dalot, Ayden Heaven, and Joshua Zirkzee remain out.
Matthijs de Ligt is facing another blow on the injury front.
The centre-back made his return off the bench in the first leg against Athletic Bilbao and then started against Brentford on Sunday but was forced off in the first half with a fresh injury.
Reports claimed Matthijs de Ligt left the stadium. He was limping but no crutches and walked to the bus unaided.
Man United will not take any chances when it comes to De Ligt, though, especially ahead of a potential Europa League final, so it would be a surprise to see him involved at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.
But Matthijs de Ligt is expected to be available for the final should Manchester United get past Athletic Bilbao in the second leg with United in a more favourable position.
