Man United Set to Bag £30M from Player’s Sell-on Clause
Inter Milan Eye Mason Greenwood, Paving Way for Manchester United Windfall

Inter Milan are reportedly showing strong interest in signing Marseille’s Mason Greenwood, a move that could see Manchester United benefit significantly from a shrewd transfer clause.
According to reports from the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A champions have identified Greenwood as a potential alternative to their primary target, Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman.
Greenwood, 23, has had a resurgent season in Ligue 1 with Marseille, where he was a joint-top goalscorer with 21 goals. His stellar performances have attracted attention from top clubs across Europe, including Inter, as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
Manchester United sold Greenwood to Marseille for a fee of approximately £27 million last summer. Crucially, the deal included a 50% sell-on clause, meaning United would receive half of any profit Marseille makes on a future sale.
The potential for a substantial transfer fee has been a talking point among United fans. If, as speculated, Inter were to pay a fee of £60 million for the English forward, Manchester United would be in line for a £30 million windfall.
This would represent a significant cash injection for the Red Devils as they navigate their own transfer plans this summer.
While Marseille have publicly stated their desire to keep Greenwood, with sporting director Mehdi Benatia reportedly claiming he is “not for sale,” the lure of a big-money offer from a club like Inter could prove difficult to resist.
