Man United to Bank Extra Millions from Summer Sale

Manchester United is set to receive another significant financial boost if Mason Greenwood departs Marseille this summer.

Speculation in France suggests this could happen after manager Roberto De Zerbi openly criticized Greenwood’s inconsistency and benched him.

In his debut season at Marseille, Greenwood has been a standout performer, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in Ligue 1, making him the second-highest scorer behind only Ousmane Dembele.

Despite this impressive form, Greenwood has been excluded from the starting lineup in the last two matches, including the high-profile clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Should Marseille sell Greenwood, Manchester United is entitled to half of the transfer fee. While Transfermarkt values the 23-year-old forward at just under £30 million, his market price could be considerably higher.

This potential windfall would be a welcome addition for United, especially as INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been unable to provide new manager Ruben Amorim with substantial transfer funds.

The club’s only major signing in January was Patrick Dorgu, despite the urgent need for reinforcements.
