Man United’s Team News Ahead of Newcastle Clash

Ruben Amorim Face Selection Headache Ahead of Newcastle Clash

Manchester United will be without suspended duo Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte when they host Newcastle at Old Trafford on Monday.

Fernandes is serving a one-match ban after his red card in the 2-0 defeat at Wolves on Boxing Day, while Ugarte has accumulated five yellow cards in the Premier League.

Injury Concerns for United

In addition to the suspensions, Manchester United are also dealing with a number of injuries.

Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, and Victor Lindelöf are all expected to miss the Newcastle game, further complicating Ruben Amorim’s team selection.

Kobbie Mainoo was reportedly leaping after United’s last away game against Wolves, but he has been declared fit for tomorrow’s game at home.

Despite the challenges, Amorim has praised Harry Maguire’s focus and dedication. “He works really well,” Amorim said.

“He is focused on the job and not what people say. He has no excuses, even if he had some tough moments.”

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford and Tyrell Malacia are both in contention to feature against Newcastle.

Rashford has missed United’s last four games but was spotted leaving Carrington after completing a training session.

Malacia, who was not included in the matchday squad against Wolves, is also expected to be in the mix after Amorim confirmed his omission was a selection issue rather than an injury.

Amorim has remained tight-lipped about who will captain the team against Newcastle, saying only: “You will have to wait until the game and see the captain.”

Suspended: Fernandes, Ugarte

Injured: Mount, Lindelof, Shaw
