Man Utd Possible Opponents in the Carabao Cup Draw
Manchester United Await Carabao Cup Opponents in Tonight’s Draw
Manchester United will discover their Carabao Cup second-round opponents this evening as the draw is set to take place at approximately 7:20 pm BST.
The draw will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football during the build-up to the Birmingham City vs Sheffield United match.
Having not qualified for European football this season, Manchester United enter the competition at the second-round stage, unlike the nine Premier League clubs in European competitions who receive a bye to the third round.
The draw for the early rounds of the Carabao Cup is regionalized, with Manchester United placed in the Northern section. The Red Devils, who lifted the trophy in 2023, could face a range of opponents, from fellow Premier League teams to sides who have progressed from the first round of the EFL.
Potential opponents for Manchester United in the draw include a number of EFL clubs such as Accrington Stanley, Bradford City, Burnley, Derby County, Doncaster Rovers, Everton, Grimsby Town, Leeds United, and Lincoln City.
They could also be drawn against the winners of ongoing first-round ties, including the winner of tonight’s Birmingham City vs Sheffield United clash.
The second-round ties are scheduled to be played in the week commencing Monday, August 25.
