Man Utd Rejects Loan Offer for Forward
Stalemate in Antony Transfer Saga as Real Betis’ Loan Offer Falls Short of Manchester United’s Demands

A transfer standoff has emerged between Real Betis and Manchester United over the future of Brazilian winger Antony.
According to reports from Sport Witness, the La Liga club has submitted a loan offer for Antony, but with conditions that are a non-starter for the Red Devils.
The proposed deal from Real Betis includes no obligation to buy the player at the end of the loan period. Furthermore, the Spanish club is reportedly unwilling to cover Antony’s full salary, a major point of contention for Manchester United.
Real Betis, aware of the expiring transfer window and Antony’s desire to return to Spain, are prepared to wait until the final moments to try and secure a more favorable loan agreement.
Manchester United, however, are set to immediately reject the offer. The club’s clear priority is a permanent move for the 25-year-old, who spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Betis where he rediscovered his form.
Antony’s impressive performances in Spain, which included nine goals and five assists in 26 games, have reportedly raised his value and sparked interest from other clubs.
The Red Devils are keen to recoup a significant portion of the £86 million they paid for Antony in 2022. A loan deal without an obligation to buy would not only fall short of their financial expectations but also risk devaluing the player if his form were to dip again.
Antony’s own preference for a return to Real Betis further complicates the matter. He has reportedly turned down offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Germany, and Italy, making it clear that he wants to rejoin the club where he enjoyed a successful loan spell.
This stance gives Real Betis some leverage in their negotiations, as they hope his desire to return will pressure Manchester United into accepting their terms.
With the transfer window deadline approaching, it remains to be seen if a compromise can be reached.
Manchester United’s firm stance on a permanent sale clashes with Real Betis’ financial limitations and their desire to secure a bargain.
