Manchester United Set To Make Move For Talented 17 Year Argentinian Centre-back
Manchester United scouts have reportedly been keeping a close eye on young Argentine defender Juan Giménez of Rosario Central, according to reports from scoutsattending. Giménez, who is just 17 years old, started all of the games for Argentina’s Under-17 team at the recent FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The young centre-back was impressive in the tournament and has clearly caught the eye of the Red Devils’ scouts.

If Manchester United decide to make a move for Giménez, they will be adding another promising young talent to their already impressive pool of talents.
Manchester United have a history of developing young talent, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Mason Greenwood emerging from the academy in recent years.
The club have also been linked with other young prospects such as Leonardo, who is another highly-rated centre-back from Brazil. Giménez could join this group of players and potentially become a star of the future for Manchester United.
A potential move for Giménez would not come cheap, however, as the teenager is already contracted to Rosario Central until 2025. The club may well demand a significant fee for their prized asset, but it is clear that Manchester United regards him highly based on his current potentials.
Manchester United’s desire to sign Giménez could be down to their need for reinforcements at centre-back. The club’s current options in this position include Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Raphael Varane, but none of these players are particularly young and there is a lack of depth in this position.
The addition of Giménez could be a long-term solution to this problem, as the player is still only 17 years old and has plenty of potential to develop further.
