Manutd Step-up Interest For Premier League Ace After A Brilliant Performance At Wembley

Man Utd are plotting £50million summer transfer swoop for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana after rapid Casemiro decline this season.

According to Foot Mercato, the Belgian midfielder, who has garnered widespread acclaim since joining Everton, has emerged as a top transfer target for the Red Devils and Barca.

It is believed that United’s scouts are keeping a close tab on Onana’s performances in the Premier League as manager Erik ten Hag has demanded additional recruitment in midfield with Casemiro being a shadow of his former self amid fitness struggles in this current campaign.

Amadou Onana best attributes

Onana has endured a difficult campaign at the Merseyside club as he has struggled to help them be consistent in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has been involved in 27 matches for the Toffees this season, netting three goals and picking up one assist in various competitions.

The Belgian talent deserves some credit for averaging 2.5 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 1.0 shots and 0.6 key passes per 90 minutes in the Premier League.

He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 84.2% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).

Contract situation of Amadou Onana

His current contract at Goodison Park will expire in the summer of 2027 which would make it tough for the Red Devils to land him on the cheap in the summer transfer window.

Onana has got enough experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Old Trafford if Erik ten Hag can acquire his services later this year. At 22, he has the potential to become a world-class player in his position someday.

Therefore, Man United would be wise to try everything they can to snap Onana up when the transfer window reopens at the end of this campaign.

Manchester United midfield department

He would strengthen ten Hag’s midfield department and would help the Red Devils challenge across all fronts in the coming years.

Amadou Onana could be the perfect midfield match for kobbie Mainoo in a double pivot after a fierce battle at the middle of the park when England faced-off against Belgium in a friendly match at wembley during the international break.

Thus, he would be good addition to Man United‘s squad in the long run.

Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes are both seen as a vital part of the club’s plans moving forward in terms of the midfield department, while Mason Mount will also look to put his injury problems behind him next season.
