PSV Set To Sign Manchester United Forward On A Season Long- Loan

Manchester United is reportedly close to agreeing to a loan deal for Facundo Pellistri to PSV, the Uruguayan winger who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for some time. The deal would not include an option to buy, and would see Pellistri spend the next six months on loan at another club.

Pellistri, 21, have made just few senior appearances for United, but has formerly impressed on loan at Deportivo Alaves in the Spanish second division. With the deal still not finalized, there are a few things to consider. It’s worth noting that Pellistri is still very young and has plenty of time to develop. A loan spell could provide him with the opportunity to gain valuable experience and improve his game, before returning to Manchester United as a more mature and experienced player.

On the other hand, it’s possible that Pellistri could find his form on loan and never return to Old Trafford, which would be a blow to the club’s long-term plans.

Another consideration is the potential impact of a loan deal on Manchester United’s squad depth. With Pellistri’s departure on loan would leave the Red Devils with just Four natural wingers in the squad – Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho,  Amad Diallo. This could leave the club short of options on the flanks, particularly if injuries or suspensions strike.

United could potentially use the money saved from Pellistri’s loan to bring in another winger on a permanent basis, which would solve this issue with PSV Bakayoko and Olise of Crystal Palace major targets but a deal in January could yet prove difficult.

It’s worth mentioning that there is still some time left in the January transfer window, and the club may have other targets in mind.
