Ratcliffe Reveals Reasons Behind Sir Alex Contract Cut

In a candid interview, Manchester United owner Jim Ratcliffe shed light on the decision to cut Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassador contract, a move that has sparked significant interest among Red Devils fans.

Ratcliffe explained that the decision was driven by the club’s financial constraints, stating, “The club is spending more than it’s making, and we’re going to be in trouble if we don’t make some adjustments.”

Ferguson’s ambassador contract, reportedly worth £2 million per year, was identified as an area where costs could be reduced.

I gave him time to think about it, and he came back three days later, after speaking to his son, and said ‘fine, I’m going to stand down. That’s my decision’.

“Ratcliffe praised Ferguson’s response, highlighting his commitment to the club. “I think that’s a very good reflection on Alex, because he put the club before himself,” Ratcliffe noted.
