Revealed: Man United Condition to Allow Bruno Leave

Manchester United will only entertain offers for their influential captain, Bruno Fernandes, if the Portuguese midfielder explicitly communicates a desire to leave Old Trafford. As of now, Fernandes has not made his intentions clear, according to reports from Sky Sports.

This development comes amidst increasing speculation surrounding Fernandes’ future, with Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal reportedly keen on securing his services with a lucrative £100m bid and significantly increased wages.

Fernandes, who signed a contract extension last summer until 2027 with an option for a further 12 months, has been a pivotal figure for Manchester United since his arrival in January 2020. His consistently high output in terms of goals and assists has often been the driving force behind the team, even during challenging periods.

Recent reports have suggested that Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, has held talks with Al-Hilal officials in Riyadh, fueling the rumors of a potential departure. However, despite the strong interest from Saudi Arabia, Manchester United’s official stance remains firm: they wish to keep their captain, and any move would be contingent on Fernandes himself expressing a wish to seek a new challenge.

New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is also understood to be keen on retaining Fernandes, believing his captain wants to remain at the club. The manager recently expressed confidence in Fernandes staying, stating he believes the player is “saying ‘no’ to a lot of things” and wants to win at Old Trafford.

The situation presents a significant dilemma for Manchester United. While Fernandes is undoubtedly their most consistently impactful player, a reported £100m offer could provide a crucial financial injection for a squad in need of a significant rebuild under Amorim, especially given the club’s financial fair play considerations and their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

However, selling a player of Fernandes’ calibre would also leave a considerable void on the pitch and in the dressing room, with the club facing the difficult task of finding an adequate replacement who can replicate his influence.
