Revealed: Man United Loan Fee Demands for Hojlund

Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund could be heading for the exit door at Old Trafford, with reports suggesting that a season-long loan deal could be worth around £8.7 million.

The news, as reported by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, comes as United’s pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško intensifies, casting doubt on Højlund’s future at the club.

The Danish international, who joined United in 2023 for a significant fee, has reportedly seen his opportunities diminish following the Red Devils’ recent attacking acquisitions.

The imminent arrival of Šeško, a long-term target for the club, appears to have made the decision for United’s management to consider a temporary move for Højlund.

While Højlund has previously expressed his desire to stay and fight for his place, sources indicate that he is now resigned to the possibility of leaving to secure regular first-team football.

A loan move back to Serie A, where he previously impressed with Atalanta, is seen as a viable option, with AC Milan reportedly in “pole position” for his signature.

The proposed loan deal would likely see the acquiring club cover Højlund’s full salary, in addition to the substantial loan fee.

This arrangement would allow Højlund to regain form and confidence, while also providing United with a financial boost as they navigate their summer spending.

Discussions are said to be ongoing, with the final decision on Højlund’s destination hinging on a number of factors, including the player’s preference.
