Revealed: Rashford’s Eligibility to Face United at Aston Villa
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford will be unable to feature against his parent club if Aston Villa draws them in the next round of the FA Cup.
Rashford joined Villa on loan during the January transfer window, and as per the terms of the agreement, he will be ineligible to play against United.
Rashford’s future at Old Trafford had been cast into doubt after new manager Ruben Amorim dropped him from the starting lineup, citing concerns over the player’s attitude in training.
Despite reported interest from Barcelona, a move to the Catalan giants failed to materialize due to the club’s financial constraints and Rashford’s substantial wages at United.
As a result, Rashford will remain on loan at Villa until the end of the season, providing Unai Emery’s side with a significant attacking boost.
United supporters will be denied the opportunity to see their former star in FA Cup action against his parent club.
