Ruben Amorim Berates Man United Star
Joshua Zirkzee has failed to impress since joining Manchester United in the summer and his first message after signing could come back to haunt him under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee was full of optimism after arriving from Bologna.
The Dutch forward was signed for £36.5 million as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS’ first summer signing and quickly got off the mark by scoring against Fulham in the opening game of the season. Yet, Zirkzee has since gone 17 games without finding the net for United.
The forward has earned just seven starts this season, having struggled to move ahead of Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford in the pecking order.
Ruben Amorim Unhappy with Joshua Zirkzee

Joshua Zirkzee came on in the second half for Manchester United in their stalemate against Ipswich at Portman Road.
Joshua Zirkzee struggled to make a meaningful impact on the game, failing to leave a lasting impression. Manager Ruben Amorim was visibly disappointed with the forward’s contribution, which fell short of expectations.
Rúben Amorim: “Josh [Zirkzee] has to understand to enter the box to help the crosses.”
Joshua Zirkzee’s starting spot is increasingly under threat as the Dutch forward’s struggles with form continue, putting pressure on him to turn his performances around.
