Ruben Amorim makes Changes to Player’s Matchday Routine

Manchester United’s new head coach, Ruben Amorim, is implementing a significant change to the team’s pre-match routine for home games at Old Trafford.

Amorim believes the traditional method of arriving at the stadium hours before kickoff and waiting around “kills the momentum” of the players’ connection with the fans.

In a recent interview, Amorim outlined his new philosophy: “I always had the feeling that we arrive at Old Trafford and Old Trafford must be the center of the game, but we cannot spend four hours there waiting for the game.”

Under Amorim’s new system, the team will utilize the state-of-the-art facilities at the club’s Carrington training ground for their final preparations.

The goal is to maximize the time spent in a focused, familiar environment before heading directly to the stadium.

“I feel with these facilities [at Carrington] we can be here, preparing for the game away from Old Trafford and when we arrive at Old Trafford, we have to feel the fans and then go directly to the game, not killing the momentum of the connection with our fans,” Amorim explained.

This shift in routine is designed to ensure the players’ energy and focus are at their peak when they step onto the pitch.

By reducing the time spent in the dressing room and immersing themselves in the atmosphere of the stadium just before the match begins, Amorim hopes to create a more direct and impactful link between the team and the supporters.

It’s a strategic move aimed at harnessing the passion of the Old Trafford crowd and translating that energy into a competitive advantage on the field.
