Ruben Amorim Names DREAM Summer Signing

Manchester United Eyeing ‘Perfect’ Midfield Addition in Carlos Baleba

Manchester United’s new era under manager Ruben Amorim could be defined by a key midfield acquisition, with the club reportedly making moves for Brighton’s highly-rated midfielder, Carlos Baleba.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old is seen by Amorim as the “perfect” player to anchor his midfield and execute his tactical vision at Old Trafford.

The pursuit of Baleba comes as United look to solidify their squad following the appointment of Amorim.

The Portuguese manager is known for his high-energy, tactically astute system, which relies on a dynamic and dominant midfield presence.

Baleba’s profile, a powerful and technically proficient ball-carrier with a high work rate, is a natural fit for this style of play.

Scouts and pundits alike have praised Baleba’s attributes, with Rio Ferdinand describing him as an “Amorim-type player” who combines physical dominance with elite ball-carrying and progressive passing.

The young Cameroonian’s ability to break lines, recover possession, and dictate the tempo of a game is seen as a crucial element that would complement United’s existing midfield options, particularly alongside the likes of Kobbie Mainoo.

However, a deal for Baleba is far from straightforward. Brighton are reportedly keen to keep the player, who signed for them in 2022 and has a contract until 2028.

The Seagulls have a history of developing and then selling on their top talents for a significant profit, but they are under no pressure to sell Baleba this summer.

A deal would likely require a substantial fee, and Manchester United may need to offload some players to fund the transfer, especially with the club also pursuing a deal for striker Benjamin Sesko.

Despite the hurdles, United’s interest is genuine, and the club has reportedly made contact with Brighton via intermediaries to gauge the possibility of a transfer.

The coming days will be crucial in determining whether a deal is plausible, as the club looks to give Amorim the tools he needs to build his new project at Old Trafford.
