Ruben Amorim Reveals Reasons Behind Casemiro’s Limited Game Time
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has shed light on why Casemiro has been getting limited game time, fueling speculation about the Brazilian’s future at the club.
Casemiro, who joined Manchester United from Real Madrid in August 2022, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this January transfer window.
Amorim’s recent team selections have raised eyebrows, with Casemiro often finding himself on the bench.
When quizzed about Casemiro’s limited game time, Amorim hinted that the Brazilian’s lack of playing time is due to the performances of other players in the squad. “It depends on the players, but you see that there is less rotation,” Amorim explained.
The Portuguese manager pointed to the example of Manuel Ugarte, who has been preferred to Casemiro in recent matches. “For example, Manu [Ugarte] plays more than Casemiro.
You can see through the choices that some guys earn their place, but it is always open, and it depends on how they play.”
Amorim’s comments suggest that Casemiro’s place in the team is not guaranteed, and that he must compete with other players for a starting spot.
