Udinese CB Set to Hold Transfer Talks with Man United
Manchester United have reportedly reignited their interest in French centre-back Oumar Solet, currently plying his trade at Udinese. According to agent Claudio Pasqualin, the Serie A club is looking for a fee in the region of €30 million for the highly-rated defender.

The Red Devils’ renewed pursuit of Solet signals their intention to bolster their defensive ranks, a key area for improvement under new head coach Ruben Amorim. With both Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans having departed, and Lisandro Martinez’s injury history, defensive reinforcements are a priority at Old Trafford.
Solet, 25, only joined Udinese in January but has quickly established himself as a prominent figure in their backline. His performances in Serie A have seemingly caught the eye of United scouts, who had reportedly monitored him during his time at Red Bull Salzburg.
Udinese are understood to be open to selling Solet, especially considering they acquired him on a free transfer. This move could generate a significant profit for the Italian club, who are already said to be scouting the market for potential replacements.
However, Manchester United might face competition for Solet’s signature, with other Premier League clubs like West Ham United and Bournemouth also reportedly showing interest.
While some reports suggest Udinese’s valuation could be as high as €40 million, Pasqualin’s update indicates a slightly lower, though still substantial, asking price of €30 million.
Solet’s attributes, including his height, composure on the ball, and comfort in a back three, are believed to align well with Amorim’s tactical preferences.
As Manchester United look to reshape their squad for the upcoming season, the French defender could become a crucial piece in their defensive puzzle.
The coming weeks will reveal if the two clubs can agree on a fee and if Solet will make the switch to Old Trafford.
