Man Utd Open to £7M Offer for Summer Signing

Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is poised to leave Old Trafford this summer, with the club reportedly open to offers in the region of £6-7 million.

The Turkish international, who joined United from Fenerbahçe in 2023 for £4.3 million, has struggled to secure regular playing time under manager Ruben Amorim, making just six appearances across two seasons.

Bayindir’s limited role at United has been a recurring theme. Despite his heroic performance in the FA Cup third-round clash against Arsenal in January 2025 where he saved two penalties and earned Man of the Match honors the 26-year-old has remained firmly behind Andre Onana in the pecking order.

His only Premier League minutes came in a calamitous Carabao Cup quarter-final against Tottenham, where errors contributed to a 4-3 defeat, further denting his prospects.

In an interview last September, Bayindir expressed his eagerness for more opportunities: “I need to show myself in the game… I didn’t get a long time of chances last year. It is not enough for my personality”.

Multiple clubs across Europe are reportedly interested in Bayindir, including teams from the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A, but Celtic appears to be leading the race.

The Scottish champions are seeking a long-term replacement for retiring veteran Joe Hart and have allegedly prepared a four-year contract for Bayindir.

The goalkeeper’s current £35,000-per-week wages align with Celtic’s financial structure, and his Champions League experience adds appeal.

With Bayindir’s departure likely, United have already identified Burnley’s James Trafford as a potential replacement. The 22-year-old England international has impressed in the Championship and is viewed as a cost-effective option to challenge Onana.
