Bendito Mantato Earns England U17 Call-Up for European Championship

Manchester United academy talent Bendito Mantato has been named in England’s squad for the upcoming UEFA U17 European Championship, set to take place in Albania later this month.
The 17-year-old, who signed a new four-year contract with United earlier this month, has impressed with his versatility and technical prowess.
Primarily a forward for United’s youth teams, Mantato is listed as a defender in England’s squad, showcasing his adaptability on the field.
England’s U17 squad, managed by Neil Ryan, will commence their group stage matches against Belgium on May 20, followed by fixtures against Italy and Czechia.
Mantato’s inclusion in the national team underscores his rising profile at both club and international levels.
His performances have not gone unnoticed by United’s first-team coach, Ruben Amorim, who included him in the matchday squad for the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Club.
Born in Manchester and of Angolan descent, Mantato has represented England at various youth levels, including the U15, U16, and U17 teams.
