Roma Striker Contacts Man Utd on Potential Summer Move
Manchester United’s ongoing search for a new striker has reportedly seen the representatives of AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham make contact with the Old Trafford club regarding a potential summer transfer.
The 27-year-old English forward, who spent the recently concluded season on loan at AC Milan, is understood to be keen on a return to the Premier League.
Abraham, who rose through the Chelsea academy before a successful spell at Roma, where he initially thrived under Jose Mourinho, is now exploring options for his future.
While he still has a contract with Roma until June 2027, his loan spell at AC Milan suggests a desire for a new challenge, and a move back to England’s top flight appears to be high on his agenda.
Manchester United are known to be in the market for a new forward to bolster their attacking options, and Abraham’s name has now been added to the growing list of potential targets.
The Red Devils have recently secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves, but are still looking for further reinforcements in the final third, especially after missing out on Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, who opted to join Chelsea.
However, a move for Abraham would likely spark debate among the United faithful. While he possesses Premier League experience and a proven goalscoring record from his time at Chelsea and the initial period at Roma, his recent season at Milan hasn’t been as prolific as some might hope for a Manchester United starting striker.
Furthermore, his past affiliation with Chelsea, a direct rival, could be a point of contention for some supporters.
United are believed to be considering a range of options, with other prominent strikers like Victor Osimhen and Bryan Mbeumo also linked with the club.
It remains to be seen whether the contact from Abraham’s representatives will translate into concrete interest from Manchester United, or if they will pursue other targets to strengthen their attacking line ahead of the new season.
