Newcastle Pushing for Former Man Utd Winger

Newcastle United has reportedly renewed their interest in Anthony Elanga, making an official inquiry to Nottingham Forest about a potential transfer.

According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, the Magpies are actively pursuing a deal for the 23-year-old winger.

Elanga had a productive season with Nottingham Forest after joining from Manchester United in the summer of 2023.

His pace, directness, and versatility in attack have caught Newcastle’s attention.

This isn’t the first time Newcastle has been linked to Elanga; they previously held talks with Forest last summer and even made a late bid on deadline day, although it didn’t materialize.

Newcastle’s pursuit of Elanga reflects their desire to strengthen their attacking options on the wings.

Under Eddie Howe, the team plays a high-intensity, attacking style that relies on dynamic wingers to stretch defenses. Elanga’s speed and attributes align well with Howe’s tactical preferences.

If a deal progresses, Manchester United would benefit financially due to a sell-on clause in Elanga’s contract from his 2023 departure. This clause would entitle United to a percentage of any future transfer fee.
