Ineos Set to Part-ways with Man United Star in 2026

Casemiro Set for Manchester United Exit in 2026

Manchester United is preparing for a significant midfield overhaul under the new footballing structure led by INEOS, and one of the first and most high-profile casualties is set to be veteran midfielder Casemiro.

The Brazilian’s contract, which runs until the summer of 2026, is not expected to be extended, paving the way for the club to move on from his substantial wages and usher in a new era of talent.

Casemiro, who arrived at Old Trafford from Real Madrid in 2022, signed a contract with an option for a further year. However, sources close to the club indicate that the option will not be triggered. This decision aligns with INEOS’s long-term strategy of building a younger, more dynamic squad and moving away from the high-earning, aging players that have characterized some of the club’s recent transfer business.

The move comes as no surprise to those who have followed the club’s recent transfer activity. INEOS has been keen to offload high earners and reshape the squad’s core, and Casemiro’s reported £350,000-a-week wages make him a prime candidate for a departure.

While his on-field contributions have been significant at times, particularly in his first season, the club’s new hierarchy is looking to the future and a more sustainable wage structure.

While Casemiro’s next destination remains to be seen, there has been persistent interest from the Saudi Pro League, with clubs like Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli reportedly keen.

There are also reports that two Brazilian clubs, Flamengo and Palmeiras, are monitoring the situation with a view to a potential homecoming for the Manchester United Star.
