Andy Cole Sends Warning To Mason Mount Ahead Of New Season

Mount became United’s first signing in the last summer transfer window. He penned a five-year deal with the option of a further 12 months following his move from Chelsea.

Mason Mount has since suffered a muscle injury that have kept him out for months but he’s worked his way to full recovery and featured in Man United’s pre-season tour.

Former United striker Cole was at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone this afternoon and was asked about Mount’s future at Old Trafford.

After a difficult campaign at Stamford Bridge for Mount one year ago, Cole is hopeful that the midfielder can have a positive impact at United and contribute to the club getting back closer to the top but also believes Manchester United’s number 7 would have to do more to get into the team.

Andy Cole believes it will be ‘difficult’ for Mason Mount to get into Man Utd’s team.

“I think it’s going to be difficult for him to get himself into the team. He’s had a really tough time at Man Utd since he’s arrived.

“It’s difficult to see where he fits in this team because nobody knows where he’s going to play.”

“Picking up the injuries and then not playing very well when he’s had the opportunity.

“Say to himself that the first season at Old Trafford was a tough one and let’s see what next season brings.”
