INEOS Chief Steps Down from Man Utd

Sir Dave Brailsford is reportedly set to significantly reduce his direct involvement with Manchester United, as he prepares to recommit his focus to his Director of Sport role at INEOS.

The move, as reported by Lawton Time, signals a strategic shift for Brailsford, who has been a prominent figure in the ongoing review and restructuring at the Premier League club since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s partial acquisition.

Brailsford, a highly respected figure in elite sports known for his “marginal gains” philosophy, initially joined the INEOS Sport leadership team in February 2022.

His expertise was widely anticipated to be a key asset in Ratcliffe’s efforts to revitalize Manchester United, with many seeing him as a driving force behind the performance review of the club’s football operations.

While his input at Old Trafford has been considerable, particularly in assessing the club’s infrastructure, recruitment, and overall sporting direction, it now appears his primary responsibilities will once again lie with INEOS’s wider sporting portfolio.

This includes teams such as the INEOS Grenadiers cycling team, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, and OGC Nice football club, among others.
