Man United Goalie Completes Loan Move

Manchester United’s Elyh Harrison Set for Shrewsbury Town Loan Move

Manchester United’s promising young goalkeeper, Elyh Harrison, is set to join League Two side Shrewsbury Town on a season-long loan. The move, as reported by Alex Crook, aims to provide the 19-year-old with valuable first-team experience in professional football.

Harrison, who joined United from Stevenage in 2022 and signed his first professional contract in March of last year, is highly regarded within the Old Trafford academy.

He was named the Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season and has regularly trained with the senior squad, even being included on the bench for six Premier League and two Europa League fixtures.

The transfer was reportedly agreed upon some time ago but was temporarily put on hold due to an injury to Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper, Andre Onana, ensuring sufficient cover during pre-season.

However, with Onana’s condition improving and Shrewsbury eager to finalize their squad, the deal is now proceeding.

This move marks Harrison’s second loan spell, having previously impressed during the first half of the last campaign at non-league Chester FC before being recalled to provide academy cover.

His exclusion from United’s recent friendly against Leeds, which saw Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton, and Dermot Mee feature, further hinted at his imminent departure.

Manchester United youngster to head out on loan this summer, as the club continues its strategy of providing vital senior exposure for its academy talents. More loan moves are expected as other promising players like Harry Amass and Jack Moorhouse await temporary transfers.
