Man United in Pole Position for Free Agent Signing
Manchester United Join Race for Jonathan Tah Amid Free Transfer Frenzy

Manchester United have entered the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s defensive stalwart Jonathan Tah on a free transfer this summer, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
United have reportedly held initial talks with Tah’s representatives as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 28-year-old center-back has enjoyed a stellar campaign under Xabi Alonso, playing a key role in Leverkusen’s Bundesliga triumph and unbeaten run.
With his contract set to expire at the end of June, Tah is one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe.
Manchester United, currently aiming to rebuild their backline amid persistent injury problems and uncertain futures for several defenders, see the experienced German international as a valuable addition.
However, competition is fierce. European giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation closely, hoping to secure Tah’s signature without paying a transfer.
The coming weeks will be critical as Jonathan Tah weighs his options. For United, capturing a player of his caliber without a transfer fee would be a major coup and a step forward in rebuilding a title-contending defense
